I’m still recovering from Saturday’s choir concert. We all made amazing music at Alice Tully Hall, and the audience was astounded by our performance :). However, I did suffer from heat exhaustion, thanks to the brutal dress rehearsal at ATH…no water was allowed on stage. Nevertheless, the show must go on…thanks to rest, water and TLC from my fellow choristers, I was able to perform.
Still tired today. I need some traditional healing food, like chicken noodle soup and tea. (Maybe a dessert….)
Don Tapas Monday soup is chicken noodle. Huzzah! Thick, flat noodles. Chunks of boiled chicken in broth. Carrots, onion, celery and spices, like garlic and oregano. I don’t know if it’s homemade or not, but it was very good.
Sans Bakery (next door to Don Tapas), sells freshly gluten-free items, and brewed hot tea. I decided on chai tea with almond milk (it was just made, very hot! and delicious) and a lamington cake, native to Australia. It’s a two-layered white sponge cake with a thin raspberry jam filling, covered with chocolate syrup and dusted with coconut.
To quote the cashier: “It is heavenly.” She was right. Thanks to this lunch, I hope I can perk up soon.
Enjoy!
