Blossom du Jour @ Turnstyle, 59th Street subway, 10/17/16

This wasn’t part of my plans today. However, when any plans do change, the accidents sometimes end happily…

Originally, I scheduled an eye exam today at 1 pm (last one was 7 years ago), and wanted to get new lenses/frames for a $99 sale at Cohen’s Fashion Optical, which unfortunately didn’t happen at all, thanks to my old eye insurance.

However, I got my eyes checked for the DMV for $25. My undialated eyes were free for another important errand. Why?

I love to travel. However, I don’t get to do it as much as I want to. By the end of this year, the FSA will insist all flight passengers to carry enhanced IDs (driver licenses). And, like it or not, I have to renew my license now after 10 years. And, I have to go the DMV in person.

(The DMV license express @ West 30th St. is wonderful!) Also, so was my lunch…

Turnstyle, the newish shopping area of 38 different stores/eateries in the 59th Street subway stop @ Columbus Circle, is a happening place. I tried out Blossom du Jour, a vegan, PETA-friendly eatery.

The $9 bean burrito wrap, full of brown rice, black beans, avocado, lettuce, pico de gallo, vegan cheese and vegan sour cheese, with hot sauce on the side. It was very tasty and filling.

Can’t wait to be back at work tomorrow, and in two weeks, I will be able to fly again! Huzzah!

(Many apologies for the scattered blog today; on off-days, life does get weird…)

Enjoy!
