Late lunch today. After trying to gain some ground inventorying 8″ tape reels (very rare), but then my computer went spotty with assigning ID numbers, it was 2 pm before I could pause for lunch.
Also, tonight I’m meeting up with my mom-in-law at her Temple’s annual Women’s Seder, so I need to eat something light and fast.
However, much to my dismay, most of the good food at Falchi’s isn’t available or is sold out after 2 pm; what’s left are 1. just the items you don’t want to eat, because of ingredients, and 2. the items you do want to eat, but can’t get because it’s cash only (I have no cash today)…
Good Neighbors Queens was stripped clean out of their homemade sandwiches, salads and soup; even their home brewed coffees and teas containers were dry as a bone, all gone. I grabbed the only items that I liked which didn’t resemble crackers: Nature Valley Oats ‘n Honey granola bars (sweetened oats, full of fiber), Peeled organic dried mango snacks (leathery dried sweet goodness, gave my jaw a workout) and Silk dark chocolate almond milk (so good!)
Yes, these items would be more appropriate for breakfast or a mid-afternoon snack, but who cares? These things were the best options I had today, and it was very good, light and quick.
I hope that the Seder tonight will have good food; granola and dried fruit can only go so far…
Enjoy!
